As you are designing your Country Cabins’ Shed, you may wonder if there is a difference between barn siding, lap siding, half log siding, or metal siding for your storage shed. You may also wonder why we don’t offer other types of siding that other builders use. Country Cabins is committed to building durable, long-lasting sheds to get the most out of your investment, and that means only using the best siding materials available.
Country Cabins’ Siding Options
Engineered Wood Siding
Country Cabins’ Engineered Wood Siding, called LP SmartSide, comes in two varieties: LP Barn Siding and LP Lap Siding. The barn siding style uses vertical panels of engineered wood, like a barn, and the lap siding style uses horizontal overlapping panels, similar to house siding. Engineered wood is an excellent material for siding, made with four different components that protect against fungi, termites, and warping.
Wooden Half-Log Siding
Real wooden siding also makes for an excellent choice of material for your shed, if you treat it and maintain it properly. Country Cabins offers a half-log style of hardwood siding in a variety of stain colors. Choosing this siding will give your structure a classic log cabin look.
Metal Siding
The final option for Country Cabins’ siding material is durable metal siding. This is a cost-effective solution for durable siding that can withstand a lot of what life will throw at your shed. It does, however, make your shed a little harder to insulate, so if you’re planning to use your shed as a workshop or other semi-finished space, it’s best to stick with one of the wooden options.
Why We Don’t Use Vinyl
Vinyl is not a durable siding material. It often becomes brittle, warps in adverse weather, and cracks from high wind or falling debris. The color of your vinyl siding will also fade, making it a bit of an eyesore after a few years. Since Country Cabins is committed to providing you with the highest-quality storage solution you can find, we only construct sheds with these 4 durable options.
The durability of our siding options isn’t the only aspect that makes Country Cabins the best in the Midwest. Check out all of the Country Cabins’ Advantages to learn more!
